My parents forced me to take the fall and go to prison for my sister. They spat their words like knives: “You’re trash. You’re ugly. Raven wouldn’t survive without us.” Then came the final order—“Do your duty as the older sister.” In that moment, something inside me died. I realized I no longer had a family. I had only myself.
